my $ problems

OK. So maybe my brilliant essay plan didn't work, but i think i have found a substitute! You see, I have a amazing math teacher who has taught my more in the past 6 months than I've learned in 2 years. And for some strange reason we were talking about buying clothes and she said that last year she saved up her spare change for one year and by the time school came around again her son was asking for new clothes. So, she gave him her big jar of change and it ended up being 200 and something dollars!!! After that I started saving up some of my change and the few coins i found around the house, in the car, and in my closet. I started in February and soon forgot about it; until I was cleaning out my purse today. I had alot of change from my lunch money in there so I put it in my jar. The strange thing is, is that the jar was kinda heaving when I took it down. So today me and Lou-Lou counted everything and it ended up being 28$ and alot of pennies! Now I can either go and get 2 new shirts from my favorite new store, Rue 21, or I can keep saving up and see what happens! Of coarse I realize that change doesn't exactly add up quickly, but I think that in about another month I could have enough to buy a new outfit for DISNEY WORLD!!!!!!
There are only 6 weeks, including this one, left of school and man am i ready for summer vacation! actually I've been ready since the beginning of x-mas break.

to my advantage!

I've decided to use this blog post as a persuasive essay to my mother. You see for months now I have been begging, non-stop, her to give me an allowance. So if this doesn't work... then i don't know what will. (by the way this is mostly for my mom to read so if i add some thing that you don't really get its because there may be things that would usually only make sense to me and her)

P1 What would happen to you and your life if your source of money, lets call it your allowance, stopped coming to you? Would you be able to pay bills, buy grocery's, or ever hang out with your friends? Of coarse not! Without money your activities are limited. Of coarse I understand that I am only a teenager and that I do not necessarily need a credit card, a cell phone, or a pony but is a small allowance once a week really too much to ask for? I also know that with privileges such as an allowance come responsibilities (for which i believe I am fully qualified to handle).
P2 As with all privileges comes responsibilities. For example if you get a new pet you become responsible for taking care of that pet and keeping it alive, if you are asked to baby-sit you are responsible for those kids lives until the parents return, or in my case, if you receive a weekly allowance your responsibility would be to pay tithing, save another 10% in your saving and sparingly/wisely use the rest for your pleasure. As you can see I have already planned out the way I would use my allowance.
P3 Like I have already mentioned I have a plan to use an allowance to my best advantage. 10% would automatically go to tithing. Another 10% would be sent to a savings account for emergencies and my future plans (such as a car, college, etc.). Then whatever was left I would put to more leisurely things. You see, I had a LONG talk with Papa today and he explained to me the importance and guide lines to budgeting. Mom, I am sure you are pretty tired of refusing my pleads for money to go to the movies or to go out with my friends. I know I am.
P4 I always seem to be short on money. Whether it is to buy new clothes, buy birthday presents, movies with friends, football games, etc. I think that if you allow me this privilege I will learn alot. Papa has explained to my how important budgeting is and how i should practice while I'm young so that it doesn't come back and bite me in the butt when I'm older. Obviously I am pretty dang desperate (you know with me writing essays about it even when i hate, with a passion, essays) for this responsibility. By the way mom I LOVE YOU!!!!!!

YOUTH CONFRENCE!!!

over the past 3 days I have been at youth conference. This year we started off in the stake center eating dinner and preforming skits we had prepared. It all started good until the tornado hit. We vacated to the cinder block halls and waited it out there. A few people went outside and brought back hail the size of golf balls! The rest of the night went according to plan and we said goodbye until tomorrow at 7 am.
I was surprised the next morning at how hard it was to wake up at 6 on a Saturday! But unwillingly we ran out the door, wearing as many layers as possible, and picked up Emma. We went to the stake center and got onto buses with our new "family". Emma and I sat in the middle right in front of a group of THE most annoying boys ever! All the 2 hours that we were driving they talked and laughed and asked us for our numbers and sprayed cologne (that didn't even smell good). We finally got there and IT WAS FREEZING COLD!! i had on two shirts, a sweatshirt, and two jackets but i still felt like i was in an icebox. We built wagons and trekked across five miles of Fields of cacti, rocks, streams, pipes, and fallen trees. It was a little hard but not as bad as i had thought, but then again i only went five miles and the real pioneers went across hundreds of miles! There were mostly 4 things going through my head when i got there: It's cold, My nose is gonna get frostbite and fall off, stupid cactus, and i was not meant to be a pioneer. there was a reason i was born in this time period and I think it was because I would not have made a good pioneer. after our miles were done we went to a big field were we set up a bar-B-Q. At this youth conference there were more than 150 kids so we were a BIG group. for the rest of the night we ate, socialised, and square danced. That's right... square dance. In my group we didn't really know what to do so what ended up happening was we ( 8 of us) held hands, spun in circles, and jumped around. None the less, it was fun. we rode the buses back home and got back at about 10pm. The trek was a success.
Today was the last day of youth conference. After church we carpooled back to the stake center and had a testimony meeting. I was shocked at how many people bore their testimony! there were non-stop people going up and we ran out of time so some of us didn't get to go. :( But you could feel the spirit very strongly.
This was my first year of youth conference and i loved it! I made tons of friends and i can not wait until next year. All in all, this was one of those weekends you wont forget.

take me out to the ballgame....

We (my family minus stepper, Emma, and I) went to a Texas Rangers game! Something about screaming when you don't know what going on and and getting peanut shells spit on you from the the guy sitting behind you attracts my attention. I got to bring along my friend Emma. It was very fun! I even got a shirt that's big enough to wear as a dress! We had a blast and ended up getting home at around 11:30 pm. then of coarse i couldn't go to bed without taking a shower to get the remaining peanut shells off of me so i went to bed at around 1:00 am. I woke up this morning to the dang alarm clock, hit the snooze button about 8 times until mom came to wake up up with 10 mins before we head out the door; i stuffed random things in my bag and ran out the door.

If you look hard you can see me pointing to the baseball stadium! :)

Names

my mom said that I'm not supposed to write the names of my family for security reasons...soooo i made up nick names. In my moms blog we are known as DH, D, G (D's hubby), S, J, H, E, and G. In my blog they will be called Obey-one (DH), mom, Ariel (D), Prince Eric (D's hubby), Star Stepper (S), me (J laughing to self), Monster (H), Skywalker (E), and Lou Lou (G). I think they suit us pretty well!
Well, there are 10 days till the TAKS tests. : (((( something i am not exactly looking forward to. So for the next 2 weeks it will be crunch time. Really the only tests I'm worried about are science and History. I've always been bad at science, and in history my excuse is that i have one of the MOST BORING teachers in history's history (and that's saying something)!!! this is our class schedule for 5th period history: walk in, sit down, Mrs. S lectures for 45 mins, bell rings, grab hw on way out. She talks everyday! NON-STOP! and you would think she might get sick or maybe even loose her voice, but no!!! so i guess what I'm saying here is that i have a scheduled nap during 5th period and the TAKS testing is going to mess that up.
